Our forced Rhubarb is hand-pulled between January to March, and then is packed in our packing factory in Tunstead. The rhubarb is pink in colour with small yellow leaves, which contrasts to outdoor grown rhubarb. The stems are grown in dark conditions, so the plants do not photosynthesise. As a result, the pink stems are surprisingly tender and sweet.
Our outdoor grown Rhubarb is hand-pulled between April and October, our Rhubarb is then packed in our factory. Early Timperley is the most grown variety which we produce for fresh, as well as for the frozen market. There is also Goliath, Livingston and Stockbridge varieties which we expect to be available soon too.
