The cherry trees started to come into blossom in early April, with bumblebees and honeybees being introduced to pollinate the cherry blossom. This is essential as without the bees we wouldn’t have a crop! The weather during the month of April was good for pollination, with reasonable temperatures during the day to allow the bees to be active and no frosts at night to damage the blossom. We still need to wait for the “June drop” where some of the cherries will fall off the trees before they are mature, but at the moment, the crop is looking good.
